AlcoholEdu & Sexual Assault Prevention modules part 1 deadline approaching

REMINDER: PART 1 COMPLETION DEADLINE APPROACHING! PART 1 SECTIONS SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY SEPTEMBER 30, 2019.

Dear New GHC Student,

As you may or may not already know, the University System of Georgia (of which Georgia Highlands College is a part) has partnered with EVERFI, whose mission is to help students address critical life skills such as alcohol abuse prevention, sexual assault prevention, and financial literacy in higher education institutions across the country. Each year over 1,500,000 students and employees complete these courses nationwide, and every student at all USG institutions are required to complete these courses during their time at any state institution of higher education.

As part of our comprehensive prevention program for new students, Georgia Highlands College expects you to complete AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (or Sexual Assault Prevention for Graduate/Adult Students). This online education will empower you to make well-informed decisions about issues that affect your years at GHC and beyond.

BOTH AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates modules are required for all new students under the age of 21.

Only Sexual Assault Prevention for Graduate/Adult Students is required for all new students aged 21 or older.

All NEW students at GHC for Fall 2019 are required to complete these modules within the allotted deadlines to prevent a hold from being potentially put on your SCORE account. If you are a continuing student, you may want to check your completion status by logging into your EverFi account to make sure you have completed both sections of the required module(s).

AlcoholEdu and the Sexual Assault Prevention modules are all immediately available to you. We encourage you to go ahead and complete Part 1 before classes begin. A reminder message will be sent after the start of fall semester classes, and again prior to the Part 1 completion deadline.
