If you want to make a difference on campus by representing the views and perspectives of the Student Body, make decisions with other leaders and staff members, and leave a mark at Georgia Highlands College, Vice President and Secretary positions in the Student Government Association! The SGA functions as the voice of the student body through service on college committees, dissemination of relevant information, participation in the allocation and approval of student activity funds, promotion of Registered Student Organizations, and the cultivation of collegiate pride on campus and in local communities.

A Vice President will be chosen from each campus. These officers will represent the interests of their home campus during SGA meetings and will serve on that campus as communication for the SGA. They will also stand in for the SGA President as needed. Vice Presidents retain regular voting rights during meetings, except when filling in for the President.

The Secretary shall provide the official minutes, recording the topics of discussion, members in attendance, motions and votes, and action items of all SGA meetings to the SGA advisor, and shall maintain an SGA voting roster.

The requirements for membership are a cumulative GPA of 2.25, except for freshmen who do not yet have a GPA, a minimum of six credit hours, and to be free of judicial probation.

SGA Meetings are on the first Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m. Attendance is mandatory for all SGA members.
