Pre-COVID:

Meetings were held on different days/times for the various campus locations. Floyd meetings were held weekly on Wednesdays at 4pm in the Student Center conference room. Paulding meetings were held twice a month on Thursdays at 2pm in the Student Lounge.

Before the pandemic, the group participated in the Great Lake Alatoona Cleanup and camped out on-site for the event. The Paulding chapter had our America Recycles Day event in the Fall, and Brittany came up with the fabulous idea to do a holiday fundraiser for the Paulding County Animal Shelter (this was co-sponsored with Students Without Borders) and we raised $100 cash and collected a large assortment of supplies. We had a hot cocoa bar and cookie decorating station there. We had plans for a huge 50th anniversary Earth Day celebration, but the event was cancelled due to the pandemic. During the quarantine, we held Zoom meetings and promoted a recycling challenge contest on Instagram. Campus garden space is also typically used by the club to grow vegetables for open gathering, but the quarantine halted that practice this year.

Post-Covid:

Meetings for the Fall Semester are undetermined at this time, but will likely involve a mix of small in-person, social-distanced gatherings and virtual meetings on Zoom. We try to cater meeting days/times to what works best for the most interested members.

Preliminary plans include America Recycles Day, lake or roadside cleanup projects, and a holiday collection drive.
