Atlanta History Center field trip – Oct. 11

How did the 19th Amendment impact women in Georgia?

Creeks and Cherokee tribes ruled Georgia before European settlers arrived, but how did that society end with the Trail of Tears?

Want to learn about the people that shaped Atlanta into what it is today?

Come on the Student Life’s field trip to the Atlanta History Center on Friday, October 11 as part of our Social Justice common theme programming, as well as an early peek into November’s American Indian Heritage month.

The Atlanta History Center is located in one of Atlanta’s most vibrant neighborhoods where the stories, mysteries and crusades of our region thrive. The 33-acre experience features award-winning exhibitions, historic houses, enchanting gardens, interactive activities and a variety of year-round adult and family programs. Inside and outside of our buildings, we reveal the magic, meaning and context that gives rise to a multidimensional, shared understanding of our city. A world of history awaits you!

Limited transportation available from all GHC locations, check with the Student Life office at your campus for availability!

We will have a lunch stop before the museum, and will begin the museum tour starting at 12:30pm.

Museum admission is covered by Student Life, but participants will pay for their own lunch (approximately $10-15 should be expected for food costs).

Email stulife@highlands.edu with your NAME, STUDENT ID number, CAMPUS, and CELL PHONE number to sign-up. You must RSVP even if you plan to drive yourself!
