Consider Wyoming trip 2020 for Area D science!

Are You Looking for an Exciting Way to Fulfill Your Area D Science Requirements?

The GHC Wyoming Geology Field Course could be your answer. For the past 22 years Professor Billy Morris has been teaching a hands on summer geology course in Wyoming that is not only fun, but also contains an element of excitement, combines class work with two weeks of travel, provides you with a lifetime of memories, and gives you the option to complete your Area D science requirements. This field course begins with four evening classes in the geology lab on the Floyd campus followed by two weeks of field work in Wyoming. You can earn eight credit hours in natural science that features Geology 1121k and Geology 1122k. That’s enough credit hours for non-science majors to complete their science requirements. The travel portion of this course begins in Denver and heads north to Casper, then travels to Thermopolis, Cody, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole, Kemmerer and Ft. Collins. This course provides some of the most spectacular geology formations and scenery in the world. Enrollment is limited and the course will fill up fast. Now is the time to enroll! If you are interested, submit your application as soon as possible to hold your place. Class dates are June 8- 11 and travel dates are June 15-27.

You can find complete details and the application at www.highlands.edu/wyoming . If you have questions you can contact Professor Morris via the contact tab on the website or at bmorris@highlands.edu Don’t just study geology, experience it!

“It changed my life, for me it was a huge step outside of my box, it tests you by exposing you to people you don’t know anything about and learning how to get along with them for two weeks, it also changed my whole outlook on geology and increased my awareness for the earth, it grew my love for nature and I found a love of hiking and exploring, it’s something I would do 100 times again for any amount of money!”
