Summer 2020, will you pick up some classes? Will you take a trip that includes traveling, hiking, boating, fossil collecting, museums, wildlife watching and more? What if you could do both? The GHC Summer Geology Field Course gives you the opportunity to earn science credits, enough to complete your Area D requirements, and experience some of the most spectacular geological formations the west has to offer. Wyoming, where the untamed spirit of the west lives on and challenges your sense of adventure. From its snowcapped mountain tops to its deep canyons and vast stretches of natural landscapes and all that is Yellowstone, Wyoming challenges your inner senses to become all that surrounds you. Experience two national parks, world class museums, historic landmarks, hot springs, fossil collecting and more. A free day gives you time on your own to experience horseback riding, canoeing, whitewater rafting on the Snake River, or shopping in Jackson. The course begins in the geology lab on the Floyd Campus with four evenings of course lectures followed by two weeks of field work in Wyoming. This course is almost full and space is limited so you need to act fast by completing an application to save your seat.

“This trip was probably two of the best weeks of school in my entire life. Not only did I get to go to places I’ve never been and learn all about rocks and fossils (which are way cooler in person) but I’ve also made friends who now have become some of my great friends! I highly recommend this trip to anyone interested! You will not regret it!
