GHC purchased some software this summer from a company called YuJa. We purchased two platforms you should know about.
One platform is called Panorama. Panorama is an accessibility platform that helps to make courses more accessible. For you, the most important thing about Panorama is that you can access alternative formats for the content in your courses. This YuJa Panorama Guide for Students will help you to understand what Panorama is and how you can use it. The second platform is YuJa’s Video platform. Its full name is Enterprise Video. However, we have simply called it YuJa Video. This platform allows instructors to record lectures with screen capture that can be seamlessly embedded and uploaded to a course in D2L. YuJa Video allows you to record videos for video assignments. YuJa video offers captions, transcripts, and editing of videos. Instructors can even do a live stream for students. YuJa has student guides for accessing a live stream, uploading content, managing content, and sharing content. You may see instructors start to experiment with these two platforms. You should already notice little icons next to content in your courses. YuJa’s platforms are intended to give you a more accessible and consistent experience in courses. If you have any questions, check with your instructors. Faculty are just learning about these platforms themselves so not everyone will have an answer for the questions you may ask. However, we hope that you will enjoy this exciting technology!
