Attention all GHC Students;

The Student Government Association of Georgia Highlands College is announcing registration for election of the SGA President for the 2020-2021 academic year. If you are interested in running  for the position of SGA President, please submit your candidate application by clicking the link below.

Duties of the SGA President include:

  • Representing the interests of GHC’s student body
  • Running all SGA meetings,
  • Preparing the meeting agenda
  • Meeting regularly with GHC administration
  • Representing GHC at various local, state, and regional functions
  • Travel to USG events
  • Participating on college committees
  • Speaking at graduation and other college functions
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements to run for SGA President include: minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA with at least 12 credits earned. All candidate applicants will be interviewed by the SGA Advisor before candidacy is approved. The term of office will run from the point of election through June 30, 2021.

THE DEADLINE TO APPLY IS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26 at 11:59pm.  

Elections will be held on-line August 30-September 4. Candidates may begin their campaign as soon as they are approved by the SGA Advisor.

SGA meetings are held on the first and third Friday of each month at 11:00am beginning in September, and will be conducted via Zoom.
