As of March 31, 2026, Duo has completed a required security update. All users must now be running the latest version (4.85.0 or higher) of the Duo Mobile app to access Duo protected systems.
What Changed
Duo updated its security certificates due to changes in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. As a result, older versions of the Duo Mobile app no longer function.
Current Status
March 31, 2026 marked the completion of the hard cut over. Devices running outdated versions of Duo Mobile will fail authentication.
What This Means for You
If your Duo Mobile app is not up to date:
- Duo push notifications will not be delivered
- Login attempts to Duo protected applications will fail
- Access will not be restored until the app is updated
Required Action
Update Duo Mobile immediately using one of the following:
- Open the Apple App Store on iPhone or iPad, or open the Google Play Store on Android devices
- Search for “Duo Mobile”
- Select Update
How to Verify Your Duo Mobile Version
- Open the Duo Mobile app
- Tap the menu icon in the upper left corner
- Locate the version number at the bottom of the menu
- Confirm the version is 4.85.0 or higher
