It’s Monday once again! This is your SGA President saying I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is looking forward to a great week ahead. All of the members of your Student Government Association have good news to share!
After a month of online voting, SGA is proud to announce the theme for the 2019 Spring Dance: Charge to the Stars!
This theme is a space/galaxy theme. All decorations will be centered around this theme. There is hope the theme can also be incorporated into the food and music as well.
As a reminder, the SGA Spring Dance will be held on Friday, April 5th from 7pm-11pm at the Cartersville campus in the Student Center ballroom and is open to all GHC students and their guests. Tickets will be sold in all Student Life offices at all GHC locations beginning later this week. Prepaid tickets for GHC students will be $2 and $5 for non-GHC students. Tickets bought at the door will be $5 for GHC students and $7 for non-GHC students. All ticket revenue goes towards funding the dance and back into supporting Student Government Association which then supports all student organizations.
As of the March 1st SGA meeting, the dress code for the dance is semi-formal, meaning students may dress as casual or as formal as desired. Students may also wear costumes or outfits associated with the theme if so desired.
At the dance there will once again be a Mr. and Miss Bolt drawing. To enter, students will simply place their names in two separate buckets at the dance entrance. However, only GHC students are permitted to enter the drawing. There will also be face-painting at the dance.
SGA is seeking volunteers to help with the dance. We will need students to be a part of a committee that will help set up and take down, as well as advertise. SGA is also accepting student volunteers to do face-painting at the dance.
